To cope with the rapidly changing aviation market and the increasing demand in the East Asia region, East Asia Airports Alliance (EAAA), a cooperative organization of leading airport operators from China, Japan and Korea was established in Jeju, Korea in December 2001.
EAAA members hold regular meetings at least once a year and may hold additional meetings if necessary. After the first regular meeting in 2002, 16 regular meetings have been successfully held until 2017. EAAA members take turns in hosting regular meetings, and Kansai Airports hosted the 12th regular meeting at Kansai International Airport in 2013. The 17th regular meeting will be held in Incheon hosted by Incheon International Airport Corporation in 2018.
Since its foundation, EAAA has actively worked together to improve air transport and passenger services in the East Asia region through eager discussion of common problems associated with airport operations and management.
EAAA members have been discussing and exchanging opinions on various topics since its establishment. We would like to introduce our recent activities:
Members discussed strategies for becoming environmentally sustainable airports. Representatives signed the Green Airport Relay Declaration, which includes a commitment by the 12 member airports to implement initiatives to improve awareness of environmental problems through a monthly relay. The relay came into effect during January -December 2014.

Members discussed measures to prevent flight delays, counter measures in case of occurrence, and shared their knowledge on what are the best practices. New Kansai International Airport Company made a presentation about installing windbreak fences, and provided alternative options of bus services to secure airport access, characteristic of an offshore airport.
