・At Kansai International Airport, the number of non-Japanese passengers was 79% year-on-year, remaining below the previous year’s level for the seventh consecutive month. While the number of Japanese passengers rose to 104% year-on-year, exceeding the previous year’s level for the fourth consecutive month, total international passengers amounted to 1.87 million, or 84% year-on-year, marking the seventh consecutive month of year-on-year decline.
・By destination, passenger numbers for China were 37% year-on-year, remaining significantly below the previous year’s level. In contrast, passenger numbers for Hong Kong and Macao rose to 121% year-on-year, while those for Korea reached 114% and those for Taiwan reached 107%, all exceeding the previous year’s level.

・Movements of KIX, ITAMI, and KOBE
The number of international passenger flight movements at KIX totaled 60,600, representing 83% year-on-year and falling
below the previous year’s level. Meanwhile, international cargo flight movements reached 8,998, or 105% year-on-year,
exceeding the previous year’s level. Domestic flight movements across the three airports amounted to 103,749,
representing 97% year-on-year and remaining slightly below the previous year’s level.
・Passenger Numbers at KIX, ITAMI and KOBE
The number of non-Japanese passengers on international flights at KIX reached 9.42 million, making it the second-highest
figure ever recorded for the first half of a calendar year, second only to the record high set in the first half of the previous year.*¹ Meanwhile, the total number of passengers at KOBE reached 1.97 million, setting a new record for the first half of a calendar year.*²
The total number of passengers across the three airports amounted to 24.85 million, representing the third‐highest figure ever recorded for the first half of a calendar year.*³
By destination, passenger numbers for China were 41% year-on-year and have remained below the previous year’s level since December last year. In contrast, passenger numbers for Korea rose significantly to 119% year-on-year, while those for Taiwan reached 109%, those for Hong Kong and Macao reached 107%, and those for Southeast Asia reached 106%, with passenger volumes exceeding the previous year’s levels across a wide range of destinations.
