KIX Waterfront Green Area Reopens Following Renovation A welcoming place to enjoy nature in comfort

Kansai Airports is pleased to announce the reopening of the Waterfront Green Area at Kansai International Airport (KIX) following its recent renovation.
The Waterfront Green Area was developed along the waters between Island 1 and Island 2 that were created through the construction of Island 2 at KIX. The area was designed to offer visitors pleasant scenery and a space to feel close to nature. Making the most of KIX’s distinctive offshore setting, the area offers sweeping views of the sky and sea, immersing visitors in the natural surroundings. Visitors can also observe various fish species living in the waters around the airport. In addition, the area has served as a venue for airport events and welcomed many visitors.
The recent renovation has further enhanced safety in the park area and improved the promenade’s usability. To make it more comfortable and enjoyable for daily walking, jogging, and other health-promoting activities, distance markers have been painted at regular intervals along the new promenade, enabling visitors to see their distance and progress at a glance. The promenade also brings visitors closer to the sea, allowing them to feel a stronger connection to the diverse marine life inhabiting the surrounding waters. In harmony with the landscape unique to KIX’s offshore setting, Kansai Airports aims to make this an even more attractive space where visitors can feel close to nature.
Kansai Airports Group will continue to create environments where visitors can enjoy meaningful experiences, while valuing the environment, fostering connections with local communities, and sharing the appeal of airports and air travel.

Note: The park is located in an area open to all visitors.
