Kansai Airports Kobe is pleased to announce that it will host the “Runway Night Walk Tour” at Kobe Airport from Friday, 21 August 2026 to Saturday, 22 August 2026.
This special event offers participants a rare opportunity to walk on the runway and taxiways, which are normally inaccessible to the public, under the glow of airfield lights after airport operations have concluded for the night. Guided commentary on the runway and taxiways will also be provided during the tour. In addition, all participants will receive a special 20th-anniversary commemorative gift to mark Kobe Airport’s 20th anniversary, celebrated on 16 February 2026.

Reception opens at 21:45.
Venue: Terminal 1 Building and restricted areas at Kobe Airport
Program:
– Guided visit to the rooftop observation deck of the terminal building after closing hours (including the Miniature Museum)
– Guided night walk on the runway and taxiways after airport operations have ended (on foot)
Eligibility: Elementary school students and older
Maximum number of participants: 45 (up to 4 participants per application group)
Fee: JPY 5,000 per person (tax included). Payment in cash on the day of the event.

If the number of applications exceeds capacity, participants will be selected by lottery. Successful applicants will be notified on Friday, 7 August 2026.
Important notes:
– As the event takes place late at night, no public transportation services will be available after the tour concludes. Participation is limited to those who can travel to and from the airport by private vehicle or other means.
– Parking fees are charged separately for visitors arriving by car (JPY 150 per hour).
– Applications and participation by minors unaccompanied by a parent or legal guardian are not permitted. Minors must apply and participate with a parent or legal guardian. Successful applicants will be required to present valid identification on the day of the event (e.g., driver’s license, My Number Card).
– The event may be modified or cancelled due to severe weather conditions or operational requirements of the airport facilities. (The event will proceed in light rain.)
