ITAMI Runway Walk

Children participating in the ITAMI Runway Walk enjoying the extraordinary experience of running and walking on the runway at dawn.

On July 12, Osaka Itami Airport (ITAMI) held a runway walk for elementary and junior high school students living in one of the 10 cities surrounding the airport.

This is one of our most popular events, attracting many applicants every year. The day before the event, the weather was stormy, but on the day itself, we were blessed with clear skies and good weather, and the event was held successfully without any problems.

After taking a bus to the runway early in the morning, the participants enjoyed the extraordinary experience of walking on the spacious runway in the morning glow.

We believe it was a valuable opportunity for the participants to experience the grand scale of the runway and see the inside of the airport up close.

ITAMI will continue to plan events that allow people to feel more familiar with the airport. Please feel free to visit the airport.

Community Initiatives

Azaleas blooming in vivid colors in tiers at Azalea Hill in Itami Sky Park

Utilizing the subsidy for environmental improvement projects around ITAMI, we provided subsidies for the supplementary planting of azaleas at Tsutsuji-no Oka (Azalea Hill) in Itami Sky Park.

Visitors can now enjoy even more beautiful flowers, with a close-up view of the planes.

We will continue to work with the local community to contribute to creating an attractive city.

Afterword

Summer is now halfway through, and there are now less than three months left until the closing of the Osaka-Kansai Expo, which opened this spring. I've added the Expo to my list of possible destinations for this summer's vacation, and I am currently planning when to visit.

The sweltering heat continues day after day, but please enjoy going outside this summer while taking proper precautions to prevent heatstroke.
