Kansai Airports is pleased to announce that the Muskoka Chairs and Timber Tiles that were displayed at the Canada Pavilion during Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai have now been installed in the international departure area of Terminal 1 of Kansai International Airport (KIX).
The Expo Legacy Project aims to preserve and pass on the cultures, values, and sustainability messages from many Expo participating countries to future generations through airports, even after the Expo.
At Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, the Canada Pavilion welcomed many visitors with an immersive showcase of Canada’s rich nature and culture, as well as its sustainability initiatives. As part of this legacy effort, the exhibits have been relocated to KIX, offering airport guests a chance to experience a touch of Canada as they travel.
To mark the installation, a commemorative ceremony is held on 13 April 2026, attended by Laurie Peters, the Commissioner General for Canada at Expo 2025 Osaka, and other guests, to express our gratitude for the generous donation and to celebrate this milestone in carrying the Expo’s legacy forward to the airport.
