To respond to the rapidly changing aviation market and the growing demand in the East Asia region, the East Asia Airports Alliance (EAAA), comprising major airport operators from Japan, China, and South Korea, was established in December 2001 on Jeju Island, South Korea.
\nMember airports of the EAAA hold regular meetings at least once a year, with additional meetings convened as necessary. The regular meetings are hosted on a rotating basis by each member airport, and the 12th regular meeting in 2013 was held at Kansai International Airport. Since its establishment, the EAAA has actively engaged in discussions on common issues related to airport operations and management, striving to enhance aviation and passenger services in the East Asia region.<\/p>\n

\nEAAA members have been discussing and exchanging opinions on various topics since its establishment. We would like to introduce our recent activities:<\/p>\n
Building a joint Website In order to easily obtain the necessary information when customers travel within East Asia , we have set up mutual links from this introduction page to the Website of each airport.
\nStandardization of airport signage Based on the “EAAA Recommended Glossary and Pictogram Examples” jointly edited by member airports, we discussed the standardization of guidance signs for the future terminal renovations.
\nJoint customer satisfaction campaign Members exchanged ideas how we can provide better service for passengers.
\nCost efficiency initiatives Members shared ideas how to improve our cost efficiency.
\nSimplified passenger flow Members exchanged their views and sought clarifications on transfer passenger flow of respective airports. Members also discussed a joint project on simplifying the flow of passengers between member airports for a future initiative.
\nAirport marketing promotion In order to meet the expectations of passengers and strengthen the comprehensive use of airports for sustainable development, members shared the best practices in every field of service facilitation at the airports.
\nSecurity Members made presentations and exchanged views on “Airport Safety and Security.”
\nUniversal design Members exchanged information about universal design both in facilities and services at the airport.
\nEnvironmental Activities Members made presentations and exchanged views on “Strategy for becoming a sustainable environmental airport.
\nIntermodal transportation Members exchanged opinions on combined integrated transport that transports customers and cargo by combining transportation means such as aircraft, railroads, rolling stock, and ships.
\nInitiatives in the commercial field Members made presentations and exchanged views on the commercial field of the airport.
