{"id":341,"date":"2025-08-19T21:38:31","date_gmt":"2025-08-19T12:38:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/prd-kansai-airports-459387916278.asia-northeast2.run.app\/?page_id=341"},"modified":"2025-09-24T12:39:39","modified_gmt":"2025-09-24T03:39:39","slug":"itm-environmental-projects","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.kansai-airports.co.jp\/en\/local-communities\/itm-environment\/itm-environmental-projects\/","title":{"rendered":"Osaka Itami Airport Environmental Projects"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We implement various environmental projects under the Act on Prevention of Damage caused by Aircraft Noise in Areas around Public Airports (the Noise Prevention Act), aiming to reduce noise and improve the living environment in the areas around Osaka Itami Airport.<\/p>\n<p>Our Environmental Projects<br \/>\nProjects Pursuant to Laws and Regulations<br \/>\nSubsidy for Soundproofing Work in Homes<br \/>\nAn air conditioner.<br \/>\nIn accordance with Article 8-2 of the Noise Prevention Act, we subsidize part of the cost of soundproofing work and for replacing air conditioners and ventilation equipment that have been in place for a certain period of time since soundproofing work in homes that are located in areas designated as Type 1 Zones by notification of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and that have existed since before the designation date.<br \/>\nSubsidy for Soundproofing Work at Schools and Other Facilities<br \/>\nBuildings such as nurseries, schools, and hospitals.<br \/>\nIn accordance with Article 5 of the Noise Prevention Act, we subsidize all or part of the costs incurred by local governments, educational institutions, or medical corporations for soundproofing work at daycare centers, schools, or hospitals.<br \/>\nSubsidy for the Development of Shared-Use and Other Facilities<br \/>\nShared facilities for learning, meetings, etc.<br \/>\nIn accordance with Article 6 of the Noise Prevention Act, we subsidize part of the costs incurred by local governments for developing facilities for learning, meetings, etc. (shared-use facilities), welfare centers for the elderly, libraries, or youth centers.<br \/>\nRelocation Compensation<br \/>\nFlowers.<br \/>\nIn accordance with Article 9 of the Noise Prevention Act, compensation is provided for buildings and other structures that have existed since before the designation date in areas designated as Type 2 Zones (including Type 3 Zones) by notification of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, when they are to be relocated outside the designated zones. In addition, we purchase land located within Type 2 Zones (including Type 3 Zones).<br \/>\nTax Incentives for Relocation Compensation<br \/>\nIf you receive relocation compensation, there are preferential treatments available that allow you to receive capital gains deductions, such as the following:<br \/>\nArticles 34 and 65-3 of the Act on Special Measures Concerning Taxation<br \/>\nA special deduction of 20 million yen (or the actual amount of capital gains if less than 20 million yen) is available when an individual or corporation transfers land in accordance with Article 9 of the Noise Prevention Act.<br \/>\n* For details regarding taxes, please consult your local tax office.<br \/>\nDevelopment Project of Green Buffer Zones and Other Areas<br \/>\nIn accordance with Article 9-2 of the Noise Prevention Act, green spaces are being developed within Type 3 Zones designated by notification of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. Additionally, to promote the planned and integrated development of green spaces on scattered vacant lots following compensated relocation, Type 2 and Type 3 Zones and their adjacent areas are being developed as green spaces under the City Planning Act.<br \/>\nAn airplane taking off seen from Itami Sky Park.<br \/>\nItami Sky Park<br \/>\nFureai Ryokuchi (Green Area) with an airplane flying overhead.<br \/>\nFureai Ryokuchi<br \/>\nOther Projects<br \/>\nMobile Health Checkups<br \/>\nMobile health checkup being held.<br \/>\nWe offer free mobile health checkups for residents of particularly noise-affected areas in Toyonaka, Kawanishi, and Itami cities.<br \/>\nVarious Subsidy Programs<br \/>\nTo improve the living environment in areas surrounding the airport, we provide subsidies to local governments for the development of parks and other facilities, accessibility improvements to shared-use facilities, the purchase of equipment for schools and shared-use facilities, local events, the installation of noise measurement equipment, and assistance with electricity costs for air conditioner use in welfare households.<br \/>\n(Images: Top row, from left: development of parks and other facilities in surrounding areas; accessibility improvements to shared-use facilities; purchase of facility equipment.
